1st-6th Grade Science Lab Teacher - Full Time (25-26 School Year)

Our Encore program includes a variety of Fine Arts classes as well as our STEAM offerings. Encore expands and complements the core CMDS curriculum, immersing students in an elementary, liberal arts-style experience. Encore faculty members teach a rotation of classes each week, planning appropriate and standards-based lessons for each grade level. Encore teachers are expected to follow each grade level’s classroom curriculum and produce lessons that enhance and expand on the topics covered.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in education or a science-related field; prior teaching experience; the ability to work as a member of the CMDS Encore team; planning cross-curricular projects with Encore teaching partners and classroom teachers; planning lessons and projects that incorporate and meet grade level science standards; developing students’ understanding of science vocabulary, concepts and experiments; preparing students for the rigor and pace of middle school; and has a genuine love of children’s education. Learning Support Teacher - 4th Grade - Part Time (25-26 School Year)

The CMDS Learning Support Program is designed to give academic support to students through work in a small group setting for a portion of the day. Our Learning Support teachers also give periodic learning support in the students’ regular classrooms as needed. Students are admitted to the program based on performance observations, teacher referrals and diagnostic testing. The Learning Support program promotes success through a combination of small group work in a separate setting, as well as individual assistance in the regular classroom.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in education; prior teaching experience; training in Orton-Gillingham or other multi-sensory instructional strategies, the ability to work as a member of the 4th grade team to plan and collaborate tutoring and study sessions for students; understanding and able to support the students’ individual academic needs across all subject areas; writing Action Plans for students in Learning Support; and communicating with parents and teachers about the students’ progress. AOK@CMDS After-Care Counselors

Under the supervision of the AOK@CMDS Director, counselors are responsible for the safety of campers and assist in the implementation of activities with their assigned groups. The counselor should actively participate in sports/games with children, and be able to effectively monitor behavior.

This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean program site, ensuring a high level of program quality, and working to establish a positive relationship with all campers and co-counselors.

The EEP – our program for infants and toddlers – is looking to hire immediately for full-time positions. Job Responsibilities include ensuring the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all program standards; maintaining a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized; and a willingness to work with infant and toddlers including diaper changing and bottle feeding.

Experience working in a licensed childcare facility as well as coursework in early childhood education or development is preferred. Other requirements include the ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience; flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work; and physical ability to move, sit, bend, play outside and on the floor with children and lift 35 pounds easily.
